My new attempt at a month long challenge
Hello again!
Before I go into the post, a little background information is necessary.
I picked up bullet journaling last year when I discovered some interesting ideas for them on Pinterest (I am a bit of a Pinterest-aholic). I always liked writing but sadly never found time to do it much. I was hoping that by doing some of the tracking in the bullet journal, it would force me to do it more and that I would pick up some better habits along with it.
As you can see, I tried to be organized from the start. I color coded my index to show things I needed to track daily versus as necessary. I found a bunch of fun looking things on Pinterest too, from movie trackers to bucket lists (as you can also see from the index).
I also wanted to track some month long challenges. I have tried a few over the years, with little full successes. The longest 30 day challenge I did was a yoga challenge that lasted a little over 2 weeks before I let it slip away from me. I had some habit trackers from a health challenge I managed to complete with some friends (mostly because there was money involved) as well as a Split Tracker, that would be a monthly challenge with yoga poses working up to the splits (I've always wanted to be more flexible).
My bullet journaling has been reduced to 4 things now: movie tracker, TV tracker, memories, and goals/bucket list. Far more manageable and honestly, the things I was the mconsistent at in the previous journal. As far as monthly challenges go, and thanks to my boyfriend, who wishes to be called ViperTalons (don't ask haha), I have a new 30 day challenge.
After a quick discussion over clams in Cape Cod about how "anyone can do anything for a month", which led to a sarcastic comment from me, he decided we should try going vegan for a month. With some discussion, and some heavy convincing on his part, I decided to give it a try. For him, he wants to see whether he could do it or not, since he is fairly confident he can. For me, it will be a lesson in discipline. My first completed 30 day challenge. Not my first choice for my first completed challenge, but I think doing with ViperTalons will encourage me to see it to the finish.
So this blog/diary will help me to stay positive through the experience and hopefully document the whole experience. I hope if people are reading this, they will also offer words of encouragement and maybe some suggestions or tips. I hope to post as often as possible (since I also want this to help encourage me to write more), but with September also being the start of a new school year, I might not have the time to post as often as I like. But again, if you follow me with this experience, I hope you bear with the sporadic posts.
